Ghana Here We Come

President Norman C. & Raelene Hill  - Ghana Accra West Mission
In just 2 weeks, President Hill and I will be journeying to our new adventure in Accra Ghana. We are excited to meet all of our missionaries there. We hope this blog will be a place where we can share our experiences as well as those of the Elders and Sisters in the new Ghana Accra West Mission.

We are leaving our home in Spring, Texas (down the road from the Houston Temple) where we have lived for the last 21 years. Previous to that we lived in the New Orleans suburbs twice, (Slidell & Metairie), and Houston twice. Though we've raised our children in Texas and Louisiana, we grew up in the Ogden, Utah area, where our extended family still resides.  My parents will celebrate journeying into their 90th year just before we leave.

We are leaving behind our 4 children, their spouses and 12 grandchildren, ages 12 to 3 months.  Thank goodness for SKYPE.  Below is the family picture we took over Thanksgiving last Fall on a beach near Corpus Christ.

Following our call, our daughter pointed out that our theme for the year should go along with the Primary song -
Our Primary colors are 1, 2, 3  - red, yellow and blue.
Each one has a message for you and me,
Each one a message true.
Red is for courage to do what is right,
Yellow for service from morning til night.
Blue is for truth in thought and in deed.
We will be happy for this is our creed!

Below, 11 of our 12 grandchildren!
Number 12, a girl, was born in March making the numbers even - now 6 girls and 6 boys.

Our 4 children below - Ryan, Kristen, Russell & Kirk.  We will miss them all!

If you'd like to follow our daughter's blog for recipes, photo tips, and other fun stuff,  you can do that HERE.
